Dead Can Dance Is Coming To Atlanta!

Wow! My longtime favorite group, Dead Can Dance, is reuniting for a world tour, and they’ll be in Atlanta in September! I’ve been listening to DCD since 1988 and have wanted to see them live for over two decades. I actually missed out on a chance to see them in Santa Monica back in the ’90s, and have regretted it ever since. They broke up in 1998, got together again in 2005 for a tour, and now once more in 2012. Lisa Gerrard has the most amazing — and moving — voice out there, and Brendan Perry is no slouch either. I Must Get Tickets! The problem is, they’re a bit pricy, and I’m on a budget now, so it’ll hurt. But this is a once in a lifetime experience, right, so I’ve got to do it, right?

For those of you unfamiliar with DCD, they started out attracting the goth crowd in the early 1980s, but really are a “world music” band, and some people would even say New Age, but they still have a large goth following. They have a unique sound, and it’s really going to be a magical experience if I get to see them live. Tickets go on sale next week. I hope to get a pair.
