5 experimental poems published by Blood+Honey magazine

Last week, Blood+Honey Magazine published “five poems by Scott C. Holstad.” I wanted to announce that, to thank the editors for supporting experimental & political writing/art, for supporting my work & publishing these poems. It’s a batch I’m pretty proud of. I used the cut-up technique virtually exclusively for all five poems & 11 pages and I think Bill Burroughs would approve were he still with us. You can read the poems on their page at Blood+Honey.

I’m going to list the titles just to give you an idea of what sort of awesome chaos you might encounter upon reading the poems.

  1. fertilize your blackened hatching lying egg codez — [Another Cut-Up Creation]
  2. you broke your alien — [Another Random Cut-Up Series Creation]
  3. randi, quick & easy do they travel
  4. no wonder terrified eyes
  5. ant1c1Pat!nG V1chy DC‘s deM1ze — [Another Cut-Up Creation]

[Some of these are poems of protest. I feel we’re living in some of the most violent times in recent history & my ideology and strategy feels that violence must be met with violence in such times, so a warning to those easily offended. If you tend to be, you likely will be & it will be intentional because I can think of nothing more offensive than the bullshit taking place every second of every day in the world in which we presently exist. I can find no other way to describe & address such innumerable senseless atrocities & even at that, I couldn’t possibly do full justice as one might wish. Just an FYI for what it’s worth…]
