Yesterday I published a post titled My 2024 [Belated] Goodreads Reading Challenge.  It was basically half of my annual end-of-year posts on my Goodreads reading efforts for each year. It focused on my 2024 Reading Challenge (I surpassed my goal of 200 books by reading 408 last year.) but I still have to post the stats for the year and that’s the purpose of this post.

This annual report (as I call it) gets its data from the annual Reading Challenge, I believe. Every year I post a small basic synopsis for those of you who don’t want to hop over to Goodreads to look at the full thing. Here goes…

• Books Read: 408 (one result says 418 so I’m not sure which is right but it’s likely irrelevant)
• Pages Read: 180,543
• Shortest Book: 2 Pages [The Mayflower Compact]
• Longest Book: 21,800 Pages [Delphi Complete Works of David Hume]
• Average Length per Book in 2024: 442 Pages
• Average Rating: 3.8/5
• First Review of the Year Written: Erik Davis, Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin IV (a 2-star review)
• Last Review of the Year Written: Drew Daniel, Throbbing Gristle’s Twenty Jazz Funk Greats (a 5-star review)

One reason for doing so might be because it shows a thumbnail photo of every book I read during the year with each linked to their own listing webpages so you can check those out if you have the time and interest.
