Also, sorry for the Vol Report’s misogyny incomplete info, but the Tennessee Lady Vols ALSO won the SEC regular season softball championship last week! So conference championships in 3 sports in the past couple of months alone — baseball and men’s basketball!
Right now, the UT baseball team is #1 in America and the Lady Vols softball team is #3 in America. This follows the UT men’s basketball team finishing the season ranked #5 in America with the SEC Player of the Year (and runner-up to the National Player of the Year) Dalton Knecht projected to be a top 10 NBA lottery draft pick and despite the UT football team losing a lot of players to the NFL from a 2023 11-2 season that finished #5 overall to this year’s more disappointing #17 finish, I also believe we’ve gotten some good performances and rankings from both tennis and golf teams and a few on the track team as well. Probably the best athletic year for Tennessee sports since 2007 and the future looks bright too, so the dry spell was long and agonizing, but hopefully that’s increasingly in the distance and UT is back, baby! Go Vols!
