2 New Pieces Published in Misfit Magazine!

I have two poems titled “now” and “the groupie” that appear in the new Misfit Magazine No. 37, Winter 2024 edition just published. With the litmag scene dying more by the day, melding and merging to become general generic porridge, thank god there is still a mag like Misfit! If you’re old school (I guess that might be the most generous description) and liked or like Bukowski, the old small press scene, Locklin, Winans, Catlin, Lifshin as well as legendary confessional-oriented litmags that seem like a thing of the past now, Misfit still represents hope, talent, a thumbs down to boilerplate idiot “mission statements” and is proof people still do read, write and are influenced by Bukowski, the Beats, the zine scene and small press of old (think Wormwood Review, Chiron Review, Pearl, Long Shot, Main Street Rag, etc.). I would say a breath of fresh air, but I guess by today’s standards it’d be more a breath of old air. Ha! And air I like and feel great in.

This issue contains writers and poets like Tony Gloeggler, AD Winans, Juliet Cook, Dan Sicoli, Carrie Magness Radna, David Chorlton, Alan Catlin and many more. If you know any of those names and like their work, you’re in luck. If you don’t know them, why don’t you hop over to Misfit’s website and try them out? Who knows — you may like what you find.

Cheers!
