100th Follower!

I want to welcome and thank my 100th WordPress follower, Alberto Monnar, who started following my blog today. His website/blog can be found at http://albertomonnar.wordpress.com/. He’s from Miami, of Cuban descent, and is a young musician. He’s got an interesting bio at http://albertomonnar.wordpress.com/biography-2/. For the life of me, I have no idea what possessed him to start following my blog, but I’m happy to have him aboard, just as I’m happy to have all 100 of you.

I started this blog in June 2011 after having blogged on Xanga since 2004. I wanted it to be a blog about writing and for awhile it was, but it eventually branched out, or more accurately, I did, and now I write about a little bit of everything. For those of you who are interested, my most followed blog posts are my book reviews. I used to find that surprisingly, because I don’t think they’re especially outstanding, but I’ve gotten used to getting my most hits on book review posts.

I know 100 followers is not a lot, especially by many people on this site’s standards, but I feel good about slowly building a bit of a following. My only comment — and this issue continually surprises me — is I rarely get any comments. I’ll get six or eight people liking a blog post, but rarely does anyone comment. I’d love to know why. Are my posts not worthy of comments? Is there nothing to say after reading them? Are they boring? Or do you folks just not generally comment on blog posts? I’d love to know.

Well, thank you Alberto and thank all of you who read my blog here. I truly appreciate it and I wish I posted more frequently. Perhaps that can be an early New Year’s Resolution. Cheers!
